What made the situation even more impactful was that his daughter Melanie was also fighting stage 4 breast cancer during the same period. Father and daughter supported each other through their treatments and now openly talk about how that experience strengthened their bond. Both have since recovered and want to inspire others with their story.

He has been collaborating for years with musicians from the rock and metal scenes and continues to release new projects.
